and Kate Thompson

The course is open to anyone who is actively working on a novel, whether it is for adults or for children. The tutors will give attention to the works-in-progress of participants and address their specific concerns. They will also give a wide range of workshops on specific aspects of the novel, including internal logic, narrative drive, characterisation,  planning (or not planning), and how to go about approaching agents and publishers.

Participants should send a brief synopsis of their novel and a representative chapter or chapters, (2,500 – 3000 words). Feedback will be given in the tutorial sessions.  Work should reach Tŷ Newydd no later than October 24th.
