WRITING AND SCIENCE
June 11 – 16 Janice Fuller
and John Latham
Guest: Jo Shapcott

This course is designed to produce creative writing which takes account of the fact that science has increasingly proved to influence human life, and to offer a rich source of material for poems, plays, stories and longer fiction.

We stress that the over-riding objective of the course is to help participants engage in creative writing, in any genre. They do not need to be scientists or to know much about science. They do not need to bring science into their writing if their inclination is otherwise. We shall simply, as one part of the morning writing workshops, indicate how all branches of science are rich in metaphor and material which those who wish to can draw on in their writing.
