Students will be expected to write new poems and re-draft existing ones in a series of lively and exciting workshops and one-to-one sessions. The best contemporary poems will used as models of excellence to inspire you to improve each unit of sense, each line so poetry is appreciated for its beautiful tapestry of craft and sense. New or experienced practitioners should apply for this unique, inspiring course.

DALJIT NAGRA comes from a Punjabi background. He was born and raised in London then Sheffield. He has won several prestigious prizes for his poetry. In 2004, he won the Forward Prize for Best Individual Poem with Look We Have Coming to Dover! This was also the title of his first collection which was published by Faber & Faber in 2007. This won the Forward Prize for Best First Collection and The South Bank Show Decibel Award.

JO SHAPCOTT's first book of poetry, Electroplating the Baby (Bloodaxe) won the Commonwealth Prize, and her third, My Life Asleep (Oxford Paperbacks), won the Forward Prize.  Her collections include Her Book: Poems 1988-1998 (Faber and Faber) and a new book, Of Mutability, published in 2010.  She teaches creative writing at the University of London and is President of the Poetry Society.
